According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in last week’s Power On newsletter, Mac Studio and Mac Pro 2025 workstations outfitted with Apple’s upcoming M4 CPUs will be among the final Mac models to receive the new chip technology.
The Mac Pro will launch in the second half of 2025, while the Mac Studio is scheduled to launch somewhere in the middle of the year, maybe in June at WWDC. Given the difference between the center of the year and the latter half of 2025, it is likely that the Mac Pro will be released in the fall of 2025.
The M4 Ultra CPUs from Apple, which are still pending, will be utilized for both the Mac Studio and Mac Pro 2025. The iPad Pro is the only device that has had the regular M4 processor up to now.
By the end of October 2024, Apple plans to introduce a number of new products, including updated Mac Mini, MacBook Pro, and iMac versions with the M4 CPU. With the new processor offering up to 1.5 times quicker CPU performance compared to the M2, the M4 MacBook series is anticipated to bring notable performance increases over the previous generation.
New 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro versions with M4 Pro and M4 Max CPUs, intended to handle applications like video editing and 3D design with greater rendering capabilities, will be available from Apple for professional customers.
The M4 CPU in these smartphones will also have Apple’s Intelligence AI, which may enhance user experience. However, the precise AI characteristics are still unknown.
Gurman adds that the following Apple products should be available in the first half of 2025:
With the introduction of the M4 CPU, which debuted alongside the iPad Pro earlier this year, Apple plans to update its well-liked MacBook Air portfolio with new 13- and 15-inch versions (J613 and J615).
Additionally, a new iPhone SE (V59) or iPhone SE 4 is anticipated.
Indeed, it may be made available ahead of Apple Intelligence’s full launch. The SE series may become more similar to Apple’s current design language with this upgrade.
New Magic Keyboards (R307 and R308) made especially for the redesigned iPad Air tablets, as well as new 11- and 13-inch iPad Air models (J607 and J637), will be available to iPad aficionados.
Additionally, Apple AirTag (B589) has been updated.
There are plans to release updated Mac Studio and Mac Pro models using M4 CPUs.
The Mac Pro is scheduled for release in the second half of 2025, while the Mac Studio is expected to go on sale somewhere in the middle of the year.
According to custom, Apple is also anticipated to release the next Apple Watches and the iPhone 17 series in late 2025.
During this time, the business is also probably going to release Macs with the next-generation M5 processor.
However, Apple intends to deliver these products on November 1st of this year, prior to any of these releases.
In conclusion, the M4 processor will bring about a number of substantial changes to Apple’s 2024–2025 range, including new iPads, iPhones, and MacBooks. Mid-to late-2025 is when the Mac Studio and Mac Pro are expected to be released, with other developments yet to come.
